Default New subwoofer install soon.........

I will be installing a Kenwood KAC-859 and JL Audio Stealthbox soo. Is it worth it to Dynamat behind the sub while it is out? Instead of cutting or tapping the wires, I got the Scoches cr02&02r to make a cleaner installation, as Ill be keeping my 6-disc changer. Is there anything I should look-out for during this install?

If you could find some dynomat cheap or equivalent insulation, and put it back behind. It wouldn't hurt.

Rockrtboy, I have the same set-up w/o Dynamat. Email me if you need the Streetwire RCAs and Lightning Audio Amp kit.

rockrtboy,
I'm pushing 300W through an audiobahn 10" with a 400W SPL amp. I didn't use any sort of insulation, and there is no rattle, and with the windows up, you can hardly hear the sub hitting. Installing wires is pretty easy, I ran them through the bottom panels between the doors and the floor. They're easy to take out and put back in. You will need to drill a small hole through the firewall to run power. It's almost as if the PT was developed to accept an aftermarket sub.

I did the same as chromecruiser except with a single 12" PolkMomo in box with 800 rated Boss which relay pushes about 300-400 but who cares, besides its chrome.

I ran my wires through the existing rubber piece with all the wires in it. That was a real pain. Had to cut 1/2" hole to run wire through. Other then that its all good.

Mine will rattle a litte if it is pushed anything past half on the gain remote. After that I don't go higher.

Its nice with my deck. My deck converts the bass and treble eq into a subwoofer on/off and sub 1 or 2 to 50, 80, 125 hrz crossover automatically. Which still allows me to use the low mid and high built in crossover for the full range speakers and tweeters. Adjustment outcome leaves me with less bass in doors rattling my mirrors and more in the seats.
What a difference![?]
