Default Keyhole Back Up Camera

I installed a smooth looking back up cam in the rear keyhole today. Before I installed it, I masked off the glass and sprayed the trim ring to match.

It was surprisingly quick and easy for the install. After removing the lock cylinder I had to reem the hole about an 1/8 of an inch to fit the camera. Touched up the bare metal with matching paint and put the camera in. It has 3 wires that I have to run to the top of the tailgate and into the headliner with the other wires. Then have to run them down the back pillar and under the carpet and to the stereo. It was over 90 degrees out and I will save that for another day.

That"s a nice install. Did you use a view reverse backup image camera?

Hope it gives a better image then your sideways picture?

Here you go.

Yes it is a reverse image camera and could possibly look sideways like my pics, lol, I won't know until I hook up the wires and adjust it. Before I can do that, I have to mount two switches next to the rear defogger switch, one for the camera and the other for the dvd parking brake bypass. Now I'm trying to find some switches that look close to the factory switches.

FYI most parking brake wires just need to be grounded

All the newer Pioneers with smart phone screen display don't work well with a simple switch for parking brake bypass. I tried that, but you have to get the timing rite when you use the switch or it doesn't work. Got one of these and no issues since. Make sure you get one of the double tap versions.

I have also read that you can view rear view camera while driving without a reverse bypass and still maintain reverse gear function, but I don't have a reverse camera hooked up yet, so can't confirm.

I want the back up cam on a switch so I don't have to switch to camera view through the stereo. Simply flick the switch and it comes on.
I already made a parking brake bypass with a relay and it is supposed to play dvd all the time but when I put my key in and turn to acc, the relay clicks and the screen comes on but when I turn the key to start the car the relay clicks again and shuts off the screen. Then to get video on again I have to remove the ground off the relay and put it back on. I figured a switch would solve my problem. If anyone knows a better way to do this, please let me know.
