Default Ok, help me please. I bow to your genius!

I do not want the stock radio in the pt cruiser I have just purchased.

here is what I do want:

Bluetooth
USB in front so I can plug my iphone in
Navigation - optional, but I feel if a car is named a "cruiser" it should have a navigation"
satellite radio - we have a subscription for our Santa Fe
something that has a knob on it to make it look "retro"
Hands free calling

Help?

I have attached a pic of a model I like. It seems this might have been in the Chrysler 300s?

The link for it is here:

Vehicle Stereo GPS Navigation for Jeep Grand Cherokee Wrangler Liberty Radio DVD Player Multimedia Headunit Sat Nav Autoradio-in Car DVD from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

Says it is compatible with my 05 cruiser. It seems to have everything I want. However, I feel the site is a little shady and I don't know if it is true compatibility. Please help. Can I get that from a more reputable site?

They sell these same units on eBay. You can search by one of the part numbers used for them, like WA-D8836C.

Here's one. With free shipping it's likely about he same as the one you referenced. There's many others too:

I don't know about the qualities of these. But they do seem specifically designed to do what you want.

The safest way to get on of these is likely through Amazon. They offer a two year warranty for a few bucks:

A possibly better choice would be to buy a name brand double DIN stereo unit with the feature you want and then mod the bezel to accept it. Sometimes there are modded bezels already for sale on eBay. You will have to make some minor mods in the dash too. There's some threads on that here on this forum.

However, the easiest option is to just buy a single DIN adapter kit and then purchase a stereo with a popup face like this. I installed one very similar to this in my son's Mazda 6 several years ago.

The one you are looking at very likely works fine. I have one very similar, (bought on ebay more than a year ago) and it was plug&play.

see my notes on it here: Pete's Progress...

PS: here is a good resource if you want to learn more about these "WinCE" powered NAV units (incidentally, the GPS on mine is awesome!)

http://www.roadnav.com/ Look under the "S100" & "S150" sections...

What we're looking at seems identical indeed. Can you go to your ebay history and see if you can link it to me?

See this is too technical for me. I just want to be given options of what to buy that either I can install or can be installed easily by an audio shop for $100 or so.

Here is the identical unit I purchased, from the same ebay seller:

S100 DVD GPS Radio BT Navigation System F Dodge Neon Stratus Intrepid Viper | eBay

I would offer a bit less than the current asking price, though. I think US$399 would be more the going rate.

BTW, as I recall they were a very knowledgeable and responsive seller, so if you have any questions at all about the functionality, you should email them before bidding...

Do you find it inconvenient at all to have the buttons for the phone on the right hand knob?

You mean - above the right hand knob? Actually no. None of the button locations bother me. I once accidentally hit the 'dial' button while trying to jump to the next radio station, but that was just me being clumsy...

Really my use of this console is limited mainly to turning it on, and adjusting the volume. (Mute button is handy too)

Once in a while I change radio presets (when driving from town to town) but normally its either one radio station or the sound file player! And sometimes the NAV unit. On very rare occasions I will park and bring up the web browser (I have the wifi dongle option) but actually haven't used any of the other features since initial testing.

Somehow I have been busy/lazy enough to not get around to wiring the backup camera video transmitter to get its power from the reverse light bulb ( One solder joint and some heat-shrink!) - so I can't report on that feature.

But as far as I can tell everything works exactly as advertised on the S100 (C201) unit
