Default How to improve sound system

Hi

I have a 01 with 6 speakers and was surprise how bad the sound system is. It sounds like a Dodge van with a little boost. It's nothing close to an Audi oem system. What I want the most is aleast give the system a little boost on Bass and a surround sound feel. WHAT I REALLY HATE is that the sound system feels like its coming from the front and not around.

got ideas?

I think you answered your own question when you said it doesn't sound like an Audi sound system. This is a 20K car, not 40K. Most people are happy with the sound coming from their stock speakers. I would go for a sub with either a built in amp or a 1-channel amp, and a 4 channel amp to boost the sound coming from the stock speakers.

just get a good headunit from a company like pioneer and most of your problems will go away.

There is a way to "Boost the Bass". It's hooked up to a Clarion 200W Amp.

I just want a little more Bass. I know it's not a $40000 car. SOmething small that won't take up the back cargo space

Go for the MOPAR subwoofer. It pushes 50W, and supposedly it sounds pretty good. The only other option is getting a bazooka tube or an "all in one" sub.

I'm really happy with a Kenwood WOOX. Enough bass for me (ok, I'm not looking to get noise complaints from the airport) and it fits in the otherwise wasted space under the driver's seat.

[8)]HI, I JUST PUT IN A MOPAR SUBWOOFER AND I THINK IT SOUNDS GREAT. IT ALSO HIDES IN THE REAR PANEL AND TAKES UP NO SPACE.

The mopar part # is 82208162 and retails for $395.00. I put mine in myself so I do not know what it would cost. I would say about 1 to 2 hours labor.
