I added a sercurity system to my GT last week that gave me remote start. Read my words of caution below though....

**If your GT has the Sentry Keys you will have to buy an extra one in order for remote start to work.**

The top part of the key will have to be taken apart and the chip placed inside a special Module. This module tells the vehicle that the correct key is in the ignition when the vehicle is started remotely.

This adds quite a bit to the cost of the system. I had to pay $60 for the key and $75 for the module.

But the system works great and it allows me to start my car from the 15 floor while it sits in the lower level of an underground lot.

It was a good investment even with the added expense...

Hope this helps

I ordered my 2001 w/o power locks or security system for the option to go aftermarket and forgo the additional expenses as noted above. I was looking at the DEI system w/ remote start http://www.directed.com/security/hornet/horn_rs.asp Even though I have a 5-speed, I was indirectly told by a person who installs these types of systems that it is possible to get a remote starter hooked up on my ride (but you can understand why it's usually best not to do this).

Remote start with a clutch is possible but much more difficult.
