Default Haunted door locks

Suddenly I have haunted door locks The doors will lock and unlock for no apparent reason. Fairly sure it isn't the blipper - although I might be wrong - as you really have to "dig deep" when pushing it to make it lock or unlock the doors, which suggests there is plenty of clearance between the button and the actual switch? (??)

The blipper battery is only a couple of months old and the blipper has plenty of range.

The locking / unlocking can happen any time - driving along, stationary, switched and just sat in it without the key in the ignition - it's totally random in nature

Anyone had anything similar, or can suggest a possible check list?

First thing I would do is remove the battery from the blipper (fob). Then see if the problem remains while the fob battery is removed. I know you don't suspect this is the issue. But doing this first is easy and eliminates the chance that the fob is your problem before you start looking at other issues that are harder to check.

If it's not the key fob, it might be the connector on the back of the door lock. If that wire gets shorted or comes loose, it can drive you bat s&*t crazy!

You have to take the door panel off, Sinbad. Then you'll have to pull the moisture liner down to expose the internals of the door. Once you do that, you get a flash light and look at the back of the lock cylinder in the door. You'll see a wire that's attached to it. Look closely at that wire all the way up to the door lock switch. If it's got a bare spot in it anywhere that's touching some metal, that MIGHT be the problem. If that all looks good, then it might be a break in the wire from where it goes through the door. You might have to disconnect the harness and run a continuity test on the wire to check for a break. OR if these cars have a separate BCM, that's also a possibility. Good luck with it. Mine was doing that and it was the damned plug on the back of the lock cylinder. Where I'd changed out doors and the door locks, I didn't have the wire in the right position.
