Default head unit won't power on

I have a Sony MEX-N5100BT that I've been happy with since 7/16.
Today I have no power at the unit.
I brought the car to the shop last week and picked it up last night.
I had the faceplate off while being worked on.
Also, the battery died while at the shop!
I ran a battery maintainer over night and put the faceplate on this morning and found the dead unit.
I checked the fuse and next move is opening the dash again.
Any ideas?

Check fuse #18 (20 amp) in the under-hood PDC (if bad, the cargo lamp, dome and visor lights also don't work)

Two fuses protect the radio circuits
Fuse #14 in the dash fuse-block and the before mentioned PDC fuse

Thanks, man.
Checked those before posting and they are ok.
I'm trying to remember if the head unit had its own fuse in the back of it.
I'm going to open up the console and check it out soon.

Just got home from work and opened up the console and pulled the radio out.
All the connections and fuses look good so I tried the old head unit and it came right on!
So, good news, power is working at the dash.
Bad news, something is wrong with the unit itself.
I even changed the fuse on the unit to no avail.

Did some further testing and tried jumping power from the battery directly to the unit; its dead!
Sony is going to replace under warranty, so just a little labor and I'll be ready to roll again.

Oh, any ideas on how to get the cd out before sending the unit back to Sony?

Lol. Yeah, I tried bench testing, but the unit is DOA.
I found an online trick with a card and two sided tape...
It worked to manually pull the disk out, but I scratched it in doing so!

Old unit was dropped at FedEx today and I should have a new one soon.
