Default anyone need to program their own keys?

So last year i ordered a ck-100 off eBay, i ordered my blanks online and i already had my own key machine a foley belsaw model 200 key machine so i cut my keys and i had to go to the dealers parts counter and ask for my skim code and they gave me a sheet of paper with the key cuts code and the code for the skim for free, you just have to have your registration and your drivers license. So after that i was able to input the code in to the ck-100 machine and program the keys. Just figured i would share this with everyone.

The ck-100 is about 100 to 120 dollars to buy.
ive done both my neon and the pt cruiser with the machine

there's OBD readers that can display the secret key / PIN

I recently got a reader/programmer for BMW keys that reads the data off the chip from the alarm module. basically the same idea as the SKIM but the software cracks the encryption and lets you program new keys as long as you have access to the module

Which obd2 reader would be doing that? Are you saying no more dealer needed to program the keys if you only have one fob?
