Did you wire up the black ground wire? On my stock stereo it was a separate wire with a locking female spade that popped onto a metal tab on the stereo unit. I just crimped on a spade to the new harness and pushed it in.

When you took the old stock stereo out was there a single black wire clipped into the casing of the unit?

If the ground is good it sounds like it is a power issue. check your power wires again. There are sometimes two wires that supply power to the radio. One is power from the battery and the other supplies power to the switch. Make sure these are both connected.
Another thought. Does the radio have a fused line? If so when you installed the radio did you have the battery disconnected? If not you may have accidentally blown the fuse

What year is your PT? Radio harness must be vastly different to mine, then again mine is a first run First Gen. They did all kinds of funky stuff on these from what I've read.

This accessory wire connects to the front cigarette lighter in front of the shifter. You don't need to remove the whole center console to tap into that wire. I personally used a t-tap and ran that wire to the remote turn on wire on the harness. If you don't know what t-taps are or where to get them, this is an example of the same t-taps I used. They work great. Here is an example of my car where I t-tapped into that wire: ![]() Last edited by KalebSikora; 04 Jul 2018 at 03:27 am. |
