Default One speaker not firing

Hey guys!!

The other day, I was playing around with the fade and balance and I noticed the speaker in the driver door is not firing. All the other 5 are, both rear pillar, both dash tweeters and the passenger door are working. I know it's not blown, I never listen at lound volumes or anything and none of the other speakers are having any symptoms of that.

I'm going to pull off the door panel and look for loose connectors. Anything else I should be looking for?

I've had problems with my drivers door speaker...
It didn't work when I bought car, I replaced it & about a year later it stopped working.
This time it was a broken speaker connector (at the cone), so I replaced it again but taped it up pretty good.

Well, I took the door panel off. There was some.minor rust/corrosion on the contacts, but nothing was loose or broken. The cone and voice coil appears to be intact, no rips/tears and no burnt resin smell. Maybe I'll swap it with the passenger side one and try it again.

Any ideas?

That's what I would try, switching to a known good working speaker

I'm gonna try the speaker swap. If it ends up being the speaker, where can I find an oem replacement? I want a matched system but I'm not spending the money to put in a good system right now.

If it is the wiring, how should I go about repairing it?

If another speaker doesn't work, I'd suggest checking the wires where they come through the door. Just use a DVM set on ohms and probe the wires. You might just find a broken wire. You'll have to take the plastic casing loose between the frame and the door.
