I have the same Alpine's in the front and some Kenwood's in the back connected to my MP3 CD Player without an amp. They sound great. I also have a 12" 1200 Watt subwoofer that has an amp and the speakers can keep up with the sub without a problem. I don't max out my sub though. I really don't think you need an amp.

Depends on if the sound is for inside the car or for the neighborhood...with the windows closed...

mine is for inside and i picked up an amp Alpine MRV F450 it is a 5 channel amp that will power everything. You just dont get any midrange punch without an amp. I am seriously considering dumping the sub because it will sound so nice.
oh the amp can be found online for $300 check froogle it is google for buying
