I checked on Thursday about going satellite. The docking station has an antenna that must be outside or in a window. I work more than 40 feet from a window and doubt the Co. will allow a wire through the building. I can't justify doing all this just for the 20 minute commute. Does anyone have experience with these that might have suggestions?

I have the satellite radio in my 2003 Dream Cruiser. It came with free on year subscription, which expires this month. I will likely not renew it. I did enjoy some of the stations available and I though it was cool to have access to all the NFL games, but I just do not spend enough time in the vehicle to justify the expense.
I recently got an iPod mini and with the advent of podcasting I find lots of interesting stuff to load on the iPod. Then I bought a device that plugs into the powerpoint in the PT. The iPod docks into the device and then sends an FM signal to my radio, allowing me to listen to any content that I have on the iPod. We have enjoyed a couple of books this way too. Being able to move it from one vehicle to another is an added bonus. This is enough entertainment for me. RJ |

I can vouch for the iPod and dock. I was looking into Sirius radio, but after I got the docking equipment for my iPod I found I use this option much more. I literally have 40 gigabytes of music and information that I can carry with me to my car and office. I have about a 40 minute drive to and fro, so this plays off.

It's mainly for Howard, but the other stations too. I've got lots of music (2800 LPs, 500+ CDs) and can't be bothered with transfering all of it to another darn media, even though ipod is the best way to store lots of music. I'm really getting to hate stations that play to the lowest common denominator. I don't want to offend anyone here, but do you really need to hear that same song again today? [xx(]
I'd rather hear some new stuff and a song I haven't heard in the past 2-3 years. [?]

I am not sure about Satalite radio, as I cannot justify spending the money to listen to music that is free on FM radio. I think when it becomes the "norm" and its free, I would probably invest in the equipment, but I think plain ordinary CDs and MP3s are the way to go right now. Just my couple cents! Matt
