where is a good place inthe hatch area to ground an amp mounted to either the seat back or a box that will be on the right side?

While any solid point on the body will be a ground, I'd consider a dedicated ground cable. Read the threads on hypergrounds. The cost and hassle of a few feet of wire should pay off with better sound, which is what the whole operation is about, right?

ground is more important that power lead, use the same size cable for both. shortest ground is best. remove rear side panel, scuff up an area, drill hole, attach ground to sheet metal screw, paint to prevent rust.

i used the bolt that holds down the i guess ring where the rear seats lock onto, just sanded the bold and washer and tightend it back to spec. and re installed the plastic shroud and all is good.
