Default Amps/Subwoofer powered from 12volt socket??

looking thru car domain and pt cruiser world, i have seen amp/powered subwoofers that connect thru the accessory socket in the truck for power. does anyone know where i can find one of these units?

not a good idea. you will blow fuses and run the risk of frying the wires. You can use it for the remote power but not for the main power wires, they should be at least 8ga wire.

I burnt out the motor on my mitre saw from using a skimpy extension cord. I'm positive that the amp would not be happy sipping power through those 20 or 16 ga wires.

but if you really want to do it and your amp is only 100w or so it will work but i can't say for how long.
