Default questions on installing a kenwood woox

i just got a great deal on a woox. problem is i have yet to install anything involving a power wire and a ground! don't laugh, but where is the grommet on the firewall?? and this might sound really dumb - but how do you properly attach it to the battery. second, i plan on putting the woox in the trunk area by bolting it to a second shelf (thus keeping it hidden). but where is a good grounding point??? any other tips for the install? [:I]

I have a WOOX installed for 2 year now. I had a stereo shop installed it for me cause I did'nt want to mess with it. About a year ago I bought a factory sub enclosure without the sub so I put the WOOX in it. I had to cut up the enclosure a bit to get it to fit but I got it and it turned out alright.

Its not the big booming sound like having a big boxes, won't break any windows but it ain't bad at all. It is just perfect for me cause I needed some bass in the back end of the PT.

did the install today. holy crap that was not easy. the grommet actually popped out and slid down the hood release cable into the cabin (good for me). pulling the wire thru it and popping the whole thing in was another issue entirely. (grumble grumble).

ran the power line down the drivers side to the trunk. (extended the cable with some heavy gauge wiring- got plenty of help from my boss!). ran the rca cables and the auto turn on wire down the passenger side under the running boards. wired everything into the headunit.

here is where i screwed up. i ran the wired remote from the glove box to the drivers side and all the way down and around into the trunk. nice idea, bad execution. the woox is currently bolted to a hard platic floor mat facing upward. if i ever want to mount it differently i have to re-route the wire remote. #$!$#%!#%!#$%$~###$#@$#@$!!! oh well. i will leave it like this for the moment and redo the remote on my next day off.

Alright? It looks perfect to me. Now the big question how does it sound compared to the factory unit that the enclosure was made to fit??

the one i installed is in the trunk. it actually sounds great for such a little subwoofer (its not much to look at). not earth shattering, glass breaking, airplane dropping bass, but it provides a nice deep sound. not sure about the factory unit thought (someone told me that the factory was a 50 watt sub - the woox is rated to hand 75 to 100 watts)

SteelBlueGT I have no idea how the factory unit sounds but I know that the woox sounds pretty good for what it is and what I like most of all is that it has its own remote so that I can make adjustments for the sound.

Where'd you get the WOOX at? I've got all Kenwood stuff in my PT and would love to add the WOOX.

Thanks.

got it under the powered sub section at www.crutchfield.com - they had one during a scratch and dent sale so mine was really cheap!
