Default New System finally installed

Finally got everything installed. The last was the new head unit, Sony
CDX-M9905X. The speakers are MB Quart PCE 216 (6 and half inch) in the doors(which were Dynamated) and MB Quart PCE 213 (5 and a quarter inch) in the rear pillars. With a JL Audio 300/4 Amp to make them happy. And OH MY GOD DO they sound GREAT. I'm in heaven. Wasn't going to change out the head unit because I really liked the 6 disk cd changer, but turns out it's tuned to make the factory speakers sound they're best and didn't do a whole lot for the new ones. So it was outta there. But with one that plays MP3s so, who cares about 6 disks, right? What a huge difference the new head unit made. WOW! All together what a system. I'm a happy camper. Check out my web site. Pics of the head unit are on the first two pages.

I just replaced my rear ones to. Went with the Infinity Kappas (5x7) in the back....(had to modifiy them a bit to make them fit and had to buy an adapter as well.) The front door speakers, are they 3 1/2? Mine are cicular...don't know if different models have different speakers. Anyone care to share? I am going to replace thsoe next. Already have the panels off. Are they 3 1/2 and do I need an adapter for them as well? any help would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks!

Bigphil we had infinity Kappas in the rear and MB Quart in the dash of our Tracker with an Alpine amp. and of course a very nice Sony head unit. It sounded Great! And they were just little 4" little guys. Infinity and MB Quart can't beat'em.

Of course the speakers are very important. But, The head unit plays a very large part in the system also. I was saying in the thread up there how after the MB Quarts were installed and I got my first listen. I was let down. It was the factory head unit holding them back. After getting the Sony head unit installed and making all the adjustments (one of which it can do is move the sound of the front speakers from the floor to the height of your shoulders). As you know the front speakers are very low to the floor and kind of shoot forward a little. And the with EQ adjustments. It makes all the difference. The factory 6 disk cd changer could not do that. The place that did the install for me wants to put the JL Audio Stealth Box in the back for me too. Don't know if I'll do that though. Pretty happy with the way it is. But then again ......

I know what you mean, I am thinking about replacing my Audiobahn's with Fosgate's. There always seems to be more things to do with this car....especially with audio/stero. I am also upgrading from a 20 inch flat screen to a 30 inch flat screen in June....can't wait!
