Default Subwoofer upgrade question

I am replacing my mopar 8" subwoofer with a premium sub and amplifier. I need to know the amount of space in the left rear quarter panel, because I want to keep the sub and amp hidden. Thanks in advance

It's gonna be tough finding an amp and sub that will fit in that small space

Hit enter too soon, anyways...
The space in there is really small, and it's going to be a bear to get in there and get something in and have a tight fit. If I were you, I'd consider going for either an 8, 10, or 12 inch sub and get a fairly small box for it (Best Buy sells Q-logic boxes that are fairly small). Then I'd get an amp, and attach it to the back of the box... I'm going to get a lot of hits for that, but it works, and if you screw the amp down tight, it won't rattle. If you need to put stuff in the back, the sub will disconnect within a minute, so you can just stash the wires under the rear seats and move the sub wherever.

Whats in there right now is an 8" sub and a 50 watt amp. For the sub, I am going to go with the same setup, and may move the amp somewhere else. I dont want to weigh the car down with a box. I just need to know the amount of spac in that compartment

Check out JL Audio's Stealth Subwoofer for the PT Cruiser http://www.jlaudio.com/.

It's a 10" unit that fits inside the rear panel just like the Mopar unit, but uses a separate amp. JL also makes replacement door and rear pillar speakers that work great with their subwoofer. Find a place to hide your amps under the seats and the whole installation will look stock, but sound much better!
