Default Thinking about this.....

Last year while I was at a PT Event, I was shaken by the sound of a Funny car engine near by. I looked around and only saw Cruisers. When I walked closer to where it was coming from, I was surprised it was coming from a Cruiser!! The guy had taped a CD off a funny car engine, and played it LOUD so it appeared it was his car engine making the sound. It was really cool. I didn't have time to ask him how he did it, but I would assume you need an separate amp to make enough power to sound off. If any tech guru's out there can shed light on how this might be done, please respond. Gary

I hate to burst your bubble but he just dropped the cd in his deck and opens the windows. The shock and awy of the sound gets everyone the first time he drives by. I think it was Niagara falls the first time I saw (heard) his car.

Turbomangt:

That's all it is--sound effects CD turned up full volume. Somebody was selling them at the falls last year. It's a simple sound loop recorded on CD and played continuously. You might find the sound you want at sound effects sites on the web. Also, I'll be in St. Louis and I'll look you up. Regards,

He has to have an additional amp in that car, it was WAY louder than any stock radio. [:I]Thanks for the tip on the sound effects, I'll look around, if you have link please post it. Gary
