Default OEM Antenna Plug

Anyone ever have a problem with plugging an antenna back into a stock radio unit after removing it? It's easy enough to pull out without straining any wires because there is a easily gripped collar on the plug. It plugs back in but no signal.

From your description of the black collar, I'm assuming you have an '02 or later Cruiser which has different connectors from the '01. That collar is actually a locking ring. Try pulling it back, inserting the plug as far as possible into the radio, and then releasing the locking ring.

When the new connector first came out, Chrysler had to issue a special bulletin to warn their mechanics not to damage the connection by forcing the plug out without pulling back on the locking ring.

Thanks for the quick reply, Nova.

A short while ago while at the resturant where we were having dinner, I was showing someone the plug with a powerful flashlight and we noted that the little fine center wire was off a bit to the side and must have been flexing but not going in straight.[B)]

I'll tackle it again in the morning.

UPDATE - Got the little wire straightened out and all is well.
