I haven't put any video in my Cruier as of yet, but going from local car show to car show I see a lot of video in a PT from Visor monitors to in-dash headunits and fold downs from the ceiling and even a full sized TV in some. So my question is do you have any in your PT? And do you want some?
This plan is in the works for me as early as the end of this year (I'm still trying to pay it off) Alpine In-Dash 7" fold out touch screen,DVD/CD/MP3 headunit Apline 6.5" Widescreen Sun Visor Monitor in the front passenger seat 2 Alpine 6.5" Widescreen Head Rest Monitors in rear 2 17" LCD Flat Screen Monitors in trunk tailgate side by side 4 Xbox's System Linked together, so that every person has their own monitor no split screen. 4 pair of Wireless Headphones And a 1/4 mile time of never. |

Well showing off is parking it and chillin video helps in that department, you could watch or display video you took from a recent car show or you could put a camera in the taligate and watch other people's reactions on the monitors as they walk by your car. I've also seen alot people watch old movies and have a beer or two. Its all about preference, yours is to not put anything in.

Please say you're not going to be driving on down the road with your "flip-down, picture show" playing away with nobody in the back.
"Hey world, look at me. Mommy didn't love me enough." You're not going to be one of those, are you? |

Fick you man(instead of the other word)! No I'm not going to be driving around for all the world to see. You know I'm just asking. And don't be ripping on a mother's love either. Someone should take out that _it out of your mouth. Don't hate on me. I think it would be great. I'm not asking you to cruise in my PT. However I did listen to what you had to say though, no matter how rude.
All I'm saying is I've seen them young and old do it up, there are more of us out there probably more old than young! Its a sound and security forum for crying out loud. No one put a gun to your head and told you to read it. |

If I was to go on a long trip by myself, I see nothing wrong with "watching" TV. I actually LOVE listening to movies some times intead of music all the time. It's a good break to listen to it. Not nessessary watch it.
I'm looking at getting Tracvision, or possibly RaySat( because they accept Dish Network, which I have). I see nothing wrong with having internet & TV in your vehicle. As long as it is used wisely. I dont have anything hard mounted as of yet, but I will. I wont list the "future" mods. But I will have something. |

I've always tried to understand putting TVs in vehicles, espcially if the driver can't see them, and I just can't. They look cool and I'm not knocking anyone who puts them in their own car (if you have that kind of disposable income to invest in something like that, and that's your choice, more power to you), I just don't get it though.

Rymanrph, have you ever had a screaming 2 year old on a 300+ mile trip? Turn on, insert DVD & they shut right up= peaceful driving.
Also, these days people spend more & more time in their vehicles (especially when we were in Japan. The USA has nothing compared to them). So make it feel like home. I'm not talking take off your shoes & recline your seat. But if you are stuck in a traffic jam for some which may be hours. Watching the Today Show, or a good comedy could make it go by that much quicker, not to mention, your more relaxed, less rage, ect.. Then you can have GPS, video games..you name it. I can really see the benefits if one has a family. But if you do it just for the "cool" factor, then yes, they are pretty much worthless. |

You know just because as of now I am alone with no family doesn't mean it'll always be that way. I plan on keeping my cruiser for years to come, I'm sure in another 50years when I become the old timer, we'll be disscussing about the new Hover PT Cruiser, with its AI controlled steering and navigation, with our Matrix Plug-INs installed in each recylning seat and headrest. This is just the tip of the ice berge. Sooner or later it will all come standard. I agree with what your saying, I like to hear a movie or 2 while driving, especially if I'm stuck in traffic. But lets say we're going on a roadtrip to a car show or something, bringing 3 friends along the way, there is bound to be trouble, "Hey do I have to come back there and seperate you two?" ring a bell? It even happens to us older kids and the kid at heart, with a video switcher and wireless headphones everyone can enjoy the best of both worlds. Video games, DVD, XM Radio, and with the headphones (everyone except the driver of course) it should be a fun quiet ride at times. I mean its not all show and tell and 3rd grade stuff. It has a purpose.
