Be Gone For a Few Days

Hey Guys, I wasn't sure where to post this, so figured this is as good a place as any. I won't be on the forum for a few days. Wife is going to have another back surgery (number 8) on Friday. We go to the hospital tomorrow for all of the usual pre-op stuff they always want to do and then sometime Friday they'll do the surgery. Seems like the clown that put the rods and screws in her low back twelve years ago, put a screw right through a nerve root! No wonder she's had back and leg pain every day since then. New doc is going to remove it and put it where it's supposed to be and then replace the blown disc below this area and add a couple of rods and screws. I want to go back to TN and find that bastard that screwed her up and pop a cap in his ass. That'll have to wait for a while and by then, I may have calmed down. Can't do anything about it right now due to the statute of limitations. Too bad.

I hope the best for you and her. funny how if I screw something up at work I am held completely liable- doctors? not a bit. the pre op agreement they make you sign is borderline illegal... my wife is going through the same thing.
there is a severe lack of talented doctors who are not there for the money. I call the new gen of these "workers" google doctors because you tell them whats wrong then they step out for a bit, google the symptoms on their phone, then come back in and say "here's what I think is wrong" hate and revenge will wear you out and heres what I figured out- I started keeping my anger towards the quacks to myself because it would just make tara hurt more. and dealing with a loved one with major health issues sucks. I owe you a beer! hang in there bud

When I was working for Boeing as an Engineer we had employee stamps and records to keep track of any work on any project we were working on. When something did happen on one of my projects it was easy to back track and figure out who and how the discrepancy happened and change the procedure so it didn't happen again. Unfortunately in all fields there will always be human error.

Hopefully this new doc will get all sorted out for your wife. We will keep her in our prayers

Remember to take care of yourself as well. The worry and anger at the quack that messed her up can really wear you down. Keep you thoughts on your wife and how you can help her recover. I believe the best thing to do about the quack is to warn others. If me, I'd search him out on every doctor website and registry on the internet and leave truthful and detailed feedback about his poor doctoring skills and include how it affected your family. Then I'd let the anger go and let the feedback do the rest. Keeping pent up anger can eat you alive. Better to concentrate on the positive and let God and the internet deal with the bad guy.

Also, take a fully charged smart phone with you to the hospital and keep a wall charger in your pocket. You can always check in on us PT knuckleheads while in the waiting room. It's sure beats just sitting and worrying. Kept me sane during two of my wife's' surgeries.

Thanks for the prayers, well wishes and advice, guys. I'm not letting the desire for revenge eat at me, Handy. I've let it go. I know that carrying a grudge is like carrying a stone in your heart. I ain't gonna do that. As for taking my phone to the hospital, I had already planned on that. I also read, so I'm taking a John Steinbeck novel with me.
