Something tells me Joepro hasn't been reading many of the posts on this web site. My 05 has huge problems once a cell is thrown, I know, I use a boost controller and it throws codes after just a few runups to 15PSI. And the EDTIP doesn't work on my 05. The PCM gets wise to that after about 20 miles of driving. I have read all sorts of things about fooling the S0 PCM, but none so far has worked for me for more than a week of driving. At this point, S1 is the ONLY way my car is ever going to see the north side of 13PSI without codes.
Did you plug up both the vac line and the piece on the upcharge hose or pipe?
Yep, plugged the lines and UCP nipple. I'm not sure exactly what code I threw since I haven't tried it quite a while. Maybe I'll try it agian. Find out which code it is and try to make another adjustment.

Guys,

you have been less than spoiled, but you have had your wallets emptied.

You won't find hard-core racers fiddling wround with the siully "stage 1" hoax. Stage 1 is a 15 to 25 hp "gain" that can be had without spending a ton of money with two cheap parts.

Boost gauge & manual boost controller.

Boost gauge: $25
Manual controller: $15
Net gain on pump fuel (97 octane) = 35 to 45 hp easy.

a "Cheapie chiller" or a windshield wiper pump with 4 to 6 outlet ject than sprays a 70/30 water/alcohol mix onto the intercooler at the press of a switch or at WOP costs about $20, and yields another 15 ponies on a hot day.

Save your money. Forget the "Mass Market Dupe of Stage 1. Do what the racers do.

i try all the modification you said but its dont work overboost code and with a boost controler you ave big power just for starting and the wastegate is too soft so you ave noting after stage one is the best and if you put mbc change your wastegate for a stiffer and after change your autotranny lol

Stage 1 was worth it to me just to get the Auto Trans shift improvement. I seem to get better fuel economy also. It is like electronic magic. It used to be hard work and lots of money to get such a "seat of the pants" gain. Plus you get that neat little Stage 1 Badge.....
I have ordered the Stage 1, but have been waiting almost 2 months to get it. Should be here in a week. What do you mean by the "Auto Trans Shift Improvement?" I have an autostick and was wondering exactly what improvement you get?

Stage 1 reprograms the auto trans. More positive shifts, higher shift points, etc. It is just like you have installed a Shift Kit. That is why you must do the learning process after installation. Hopefully this will help the trans deal with the additional power. It is a great temptation to "stick your foot into it" when you get a chance. Just remember to be sure you point it straight when you do.

First off, Stage 1 for 2004 is IN the 2005. Period. In other wortds you CANNOT adds stage 1 to a 2005 car. Not unless you take out the existing code, and injectors, throw them away, and put the same ones back in.

There are no 2005 Stage 1s.

Good grief.

As far as the transmission, you could fool around with the software, or you could put a real valve body in the car.

As far as power, the 2004 Stage 1 almost gets to a stock 2005 curve on 97.

I don't know where that one guy lives, but we have 104 octane here for super test. 97 octane is a mid-grade. I would recommend moving closer to civilization I guess.

Cheers guys.

Joe

Well in response to the octane issue. I live in phoenix, az which is the 5th largest city in the US now and we only get 87 89 and 91 as a gas options. Plus you can't get that gas in california either. So where is your civilization located at?

Here's a funny picture from someone not only dispensing performance advice, but also disparaging real facts:

This car is actually beathing underhood air, which is roughly 25 degrees hotter than external mass air, through a filter that I am guessing was supposed to reduce restrictions and improve performance.

And what is up with the cheesy low-performance intake manifold? Why bother with an aftermarket air filter when you have a Briggs & Stratton intake manifold? The real one (2005 Turbo HO) is non-metallic, and actually BREATHES.

So, at WOT, he has maybe ...MAYBE reduced restriction by 2 or 3 % ( this is a turbo car- 12 pounds boost is 12 pounds of boost whether the air filter is restrictive (which it was not) or not.

To get that 3% gain, he accepts a 15 to 20% loss AACROSS THE ENTIRE OPERATING RANGE for the lost mass, heat-soaked under-hood air he is feeding the engine.

Boy, I just can't wait for the next tidbit of advice.

I am betting there is a picture with neon lights on the car underside too is there?

Lets at least use a little common physics here, shall we?

Cheers guys,

Joe

Joe-
Guess I should remove that pic since it no longer represents what is actually under my hood.(Have since gone back to stock box and K&N drop in w/ piping from the front up the wheel well) Anyway, I'm not dispensing any advice, I'm just telling everyone out there my experiences with my car. I have a funny early build. Would you like my VIN so I can prove it's an 05' GT vert built in may 04'?? And where are you getting this "fact" that the 05's have the S1 programming?? I would like to know. Are you a mopar insider?? A DC employee?? And if the 05's have the S1 programming why isn't DC rating them at 235HP which is the S1 rating?? HMMMMM....

What is up with Joe anyhow? He never has any constructive input, just wants to rag on people, and his information is usually wrong. If he really wants people to listen to what he has to say he needs to change his style. We would welcome informed input or even questions. If you just want to post negative you can do that at one of the import boards and get lots of reaction.
