Stage 1 reprograms the auto trans. More positive shifts, higher shift points, etc. It is just like you have installed a Shift Kit. That is why you must do the learning process after installation. Hopefully this will help the trans deal with the additional power. It is a great temptation to "stick your foot into it" when you get a chance. Just remember to be sure you point it straight when you do.

There are no 2005 Stage 1s. Good grief. As far as the transmission, you could fool around with the software, or you could put a real valve body in the car. As far as power, the 2004 Stage 1 almost gets to a stock 2005 curve on 97. I don't know where that one guy lives, but we have 104 octane here for super test. 97 octane is a mid-grade. I would recommend moving closer to civilization I guess. Cheers guys. Joe

Here's a funny picture from someone not only dispensing performance advice, but also disparaging real facts:
![]() This car is actually beathing underhood air, which is roughly 25 degrees hotter than external mass air, through a filter that I am guessing was supposed to reduce restrictions and improve performance. And what is up with the cheesy low-performance intake manifold? Why bother with an aftermarket air filter when you have a Briggs & Stratton intake manifold? The real one (2005 Turbo HO) is non-metallic, and actually BREATHES. So, at WOT, he has maybe ...MAYBE reduced restriction by 2 or 3 % ( this is a turbo car- 12 pounds boost is 12 pounds of boost whether the air filter is restrictive (which it was not) or not. To get that 3% gain, he accepts a 15 to 20% loss AACROSS THE ENTIRE OPERATING RANGE for the lost mass, heat-soaked under-hood air he is feeding the engine. Boy, I just can't wait for the next tidbit of advice. I am betting there is a picture with neon lights on the car underside too is there? Lets at least use a little common physics here, shall we? Cheers guys, Joe

Joe-
Guess I should remove that pic since it no longer represents what is actually under my hood.(Have since gone back to stock box and K&N drop in w/ piping from the front up the wheel well) Anyway, I'm not dispensing any advice, I'm just telling everyone out there my experiences with my car. I have a funny early build. Would you like my VIN so I can prove it's an 05' GT vert built in may 04'?? And where are you getting this "fact" that the 05's have the S1 programming?? I would like to know. Are you a mopar insider?? A DC employee?? And if the 05's have the S1 programming why isn't DC rating them at 235HP which is the S1 rating?? HMMMMM....

What is up with Joe anyhow? He never has any constructive input, just wants to rag on people, and his information is usually wrong. If he really wants people to listen to what he has to say he needs to change his style. We would welcome informed input or even questions. If you just want to post negative you can do that at one of the import boards and get lots of reaction.
