Hey mervay, do the instructions really say that you need to change plugs and wires with Stage 1? If so, this is new for '05 as the previous years never mentioned this.

By the way, do the instructions say what the HP and Torque numbers are for Stage 1 in an '05?

Hp is 235 and torque is 275. Yes I was surprised that the instruction said it was essential to use PLZTR5A plugs, gapped at .035. And the mopar high performance wires. In another thread here csx76 was able to use different plugs and wires. Read what he says. Looks like it worked well. My local dealer had the wires but I have to get the plugs myself. Hope to have everything installed next week. After reading about csx76's experience I can't wait! The only problem is my wife!!! She thinks if I spin the tires I am destroying them and killing the car. I will have to be extremely careful when she is with me. Lucky I use it to drive to work everyday!

Interesting.......previous model year upgrades did not mention changing plugs and wires, and the torque number you give is 10ft-lbs higher than for previous model years. I had heard rumor that the specs were different, and I guess this confirms it. Thanks.

SR-PT4 - I must retract my statement about the torque created by the stage 1 kit. I called home and asked my daughter to look at the paperwork and it only mentioned 235 hp. It did not mention the torque figures. I am sorry about this. Everything else is correct about replacing the plugs and wires. Again sorry..

No problem mervay, I'm just curious because I'm also hearing elsewhere that S1 for the '05 is supposed to be 260HP, not the 235 as in previous years. [:I]

You know it seems like I have read that somewhere to. By the way I called home(I am at work) My daughter read me off the part numbers for the plugs and wires. Plugs: NGK PLZTR5A-13 Laser Platinum ($11.71 each)and the plug wires are P4876511. I called around a few places on the wires. No one has heard of that part number. Then I called the mopar dealer. He has them $48.00. He doesn't have the Plugs. I got those online. Won't get here till sometime next week.

I received my Stage I from TThrift today & the literature does indeed state 275 ft-lbs torque @ 2800 rpm... Power is still listed as 235 hp @ 4900 rpm...

Now... Do I install immediately, or continue as a Lite Turbo until gas prices fall...[:I]
