Interesting.......previous model year upgrades did not mention changing plugs and wires, and the torque number you give is 10ft-lbs higher than for previous model years. I had heard rumor that the specs were different, and I guess this confirms it. Thanks.
I received my Stage I from TThrift today & the literature does indeed state 275 ft-lbs torque @ 2800 rpm... Power is still listed as 235 hp @ 4900 rpm...

Now... Do I install immediately, or continue as a Lite Turbo until gas prices fall...[:I]
I still haven't got my NGK plugs yet. I ordered the regular pro series (zltr5a) when the instructions said to get the double platnium plugs pzltr5a. Anyone need the regular zltr5a ngk plugs? I was debating over whether to install now or wait for gas to go down. But in the end all it will ever cost me is $3.00 more for a tank of premium over regular. So I will install as soon as I get the parts.

Oh, come on, just get some octane booster and throw that baby in there.[^]

Ah, I couldn't wait... Slapped in octane booster, popped it in this morning and taught the transmission... As others have stated, it runs like a banshee & shifts are very solid!

I'm still running stock plugs & wires - have others on order, but it seems to run real strong with stock items...

That's what i'm talking about![^]
Everyone I've talked to says stay away from the plat. plugs on the GT. Copper or Iridium. I prefer the Iridiums. I have tested the stock Champs, vs NGK v-power copper vs Denso ITV16 iridiums. The Denso iridiums gapped at .033 with hi perf wires work best for my car. It has no hesitation starting even when ice cold. It actually caught me off guard after I regapped to .033 on the advise of AZ iceman. My starter barked at me for holding the key too long. Never, ever happened to me before in this car. It always took 2 "er,er's" to start. Now not even 1 before it fires up. My advise, get the one step colder Denso ITV 20. Gap to .033 and watch out for your tires.

Yep, I'm gonna do the plug/wire thingie shortly... [8D]

Your last sentence brings up an interesting point - I dumped the GY LS tires before I had 3000 miles on 'er (only have 8000 now) because they scared the crap outa me... Real bad in rain & little traction in dry too.

Anyway, I' m not a real hotdog & was looking for a good reasonably long wearing, safe tire that performs decently. I ended up buying a set of the new GY Assurance TripleTred & they are fantastic! Even with Stage 1, they just flat hook up and go.

The Michelin HydroEdge is much the same, only a bit high priced. I put a set of these on my Caddie CTS & find they perform about the same as the TripleTreds.

I got around 13,000 miles on my Yokos and they have not started to wear yet. If I can get anywhere between 40.000 to 60,000 miles on them I will be very happy as they are all season, great handling, low noise, and ulta smooth.

Oh well! Guess I'll leave as stage 1. Will be unemployed soon. I had this done as a last gift to myself. I'm going to enjoy the heck out of it! [|)]
