Default RE: 2005 Stage 1

Got my Stage 1 installed. i have a Electric blue convertable turbo lite with automatic tx. Side pipes and K&N intake. The Mopar instruction sheet recommends NGK PLZTR5A plugs, gapped at .035.
After taking to NGK, they recommended NGK 2315 plug, 1 range colder and gapped to .040. Also installed Magnecore wires. Got everything installed and did the transmission quck learn procedure. Made sure to fill up with 93 premium gas and ready for the moment of truth.
All I can say is WOW! This Cruiser is like a rocket ship. From a standing start with about 75% throttle, the tires just go up in smoke. Unreal power now from this motor. I'm very pleased.
The Mopar instruction sheet states, 235hp@4900rpm and 275ft-lbs@2800rpm. Follow the instructions and you should have no problem.
I got my Stage 1 from moparsupercenter.com. ENJOY!

Congrats!! It truely is a blast and makes you wonder why all the turbo owners with $$ have not done this yet. Well.. maybe nowadays the Lite owners can save a lil $$ on not having to get 93 octane. But that is not a good enough reason lol.

Oh did you get the Mopar BOV too? I love hearing the hiss from it. My bud has a SRT-4 Stage 2 w/ toys and when we drive by people it is funny to hear the hissing from both cars and seeing people jump.

csx76 - Did you install this yourself? or did you have local dealer do it? If local dealer did it had they installed these before? Did they do the quick learn on the tranny or did you? I had heard in other threads that the dealer could inadvertently flash the Pcm and mess it up while doing the quick learn. My local dealer has installed 1 before but I don't know if it was a stick or auto tranny. I want them to do the quick learn and hope they don't mess it up. Thanks for any info in advance.

Mervay, locally here, we bought the Stage 1 from & had it installed
by the same dealer. Have you had work done by them before?
Were you satisfied? If you trust them--it was a package deal.
But, its a little pricer that way. Some of the members on
this forum did it themselves. Better to be safe. H.

I have worked with them before. My brother-in-law is a sales manager there. I guess I will have to trust them. I am not much of a mechanic. Thanks for the info!

To answer Mervay. I did all the work myself. It's really not that hard. Just follow the instruction sheet and you shouldn't have a problem. The quick learn procedure for the auto tranny is simple and straight foward. Just remember to use 93 premium fuel.
