Default Stage 1 problem solved

OK, Now that my S1 problems are fixed thanks to IceMan, I am going to act retarded and welcome myself to the S1 club!!!!![?] Or should it be called the LEAD FOOT club?

WOW, that is all I have to say right now. I still have to drive it more (I only took it out for about a mile after the plug re-gap).

I have an opinion on the plastic intake that I put on with my s1. I emailed Tommy and told him about this and would like to know if anyone else has run into this. I have an '03, replaced the stock intake with the plastic one and then had to re-gap the plugs because of the problem I was having..........I couldn't get access to the 2nd from left plug hole. I had to unbolt the intake in order to get to it. Also, the oil dipstick does not attach to the new intake. Other than these 2 things.........I am happy, well except for the amount of money I am going to be spending on gas from stompin on it all the time.

Val

Welcome to the fun. Others have secured the dipstick with a L bracket.

The plug access to that one plug is the downside to the plastic intake. I think I read about someone grinding enough clearance on it so they didn't have to remove the upper but I cannot confirm this is possible. Upper removal is just part of the gameplan ona plastic intake car.

Also, do something soon to attach the dipstick tube. One unluck soul didn't and he cracked the tube and had a heck of a time R&R-ing it.

To access the plugs on a PT with the turbo plastic manifold, all you need are two universal joint socket adapters connected in series with the spark plug socket. This has been performed and verified by several PT owners.

Or you can get the sparkplug socket with the universal joint already attached and then a second universal joint socket adapater right on top of that.

you can carefully modify the oil dip stick bracket with a pair of channel locks & bend it into position. I have done two so far. Mine & a buddies about 2 weeks ago when we installed both of ours in 1 day.
