Default Stag 1 and mileage

Is there a time that we should not consider putting in a stage 1 kit. For example, I have an '03 manual GT with 50,000km or 30,000 miles on it. When is the car too old to be upgrade or does it not matter? When should we say...ok...too old...will actually do some damage. I'm considering putting the kit in place, but worry about older mileage cars.

Can anyone enlighten me on the subject.

Also, can a stage 1 be put in without any other mods(muffler, air kit etc.)? want the power, but don't want to dump more than that in.

Thanks,

Yukonsly

At 30,000 miles you have just broken in the engine so no worries. And yes, the Stage 1 is a great stand alone mod. Get it.

OK...so mileage has nothing to do with it...car could have 100,000 miles and you guys would still do it? Humh....maybe I will. since it is my wife's car...that she uses daily....and she does not have a lead foot....would she notice? What I'm going for is....I want the power not her....soooo she could potentially get pissed if I dropped money in the car....is it one of those things that unless you stomp on it, you won't know it's there?

you guys sure are building a good case for me to do it hahahha

Later!

Your tranny is going to go wether or not you put in S1. It seems most go out between 40 and 60,000 miles. S1 by itself really isn't going to put any more stress on your tranny than it is under now. And you can just pull out S1 if something does happen before you take it to the dealer.
