Default Stage One and the warranty

Does Stage One void the warranty? Chrysler's language says it technically doesn't...but the upgrade is only supposed to be used on cars without pollution controls. Doesn't Chrysler also require the VIN if you purchase it?

Sorry if this question has been asked before.

Just asking the question voids your warranty. sigh.....go google the Magnusson-Moss Warranty act. Read up, then come back and tell us....

Really depends on if the dealer is mod friendly.

The one service writer that I talked to said don't even say 'Stage 1' and to have the computer removed if you are going to bring it in.....

So, you keep the old computer and just reinstall it if you have a problem? Has anyone experienced mechanical problems related to the stage one upgrade?

None that I've ever heard of, unless you count tranny failures. But the auto sucks big balls anyway, and will eventually blow regardless of S1 or not. And I think I remember one person had a bad flash, but Flight Systems took care of it. Wasn't on this forum though IIRC, it was on a much better one...

I own the 5 speed Getrag GT. However, I have heard of auto tranny failures on the PT auto.

Then you should be fine. You don't have to worry about a quicklearn, just install and go. Do it!

I have heard that stage one, if used improperly, can lead to speeding tickets, insurance surcharges and license suspensions.

Properly used it has been known to cause sore cheekbones from excessive grinning.
