Phew... Finally finished installing Stage 1 for my 03 PT, getting to those fuel injectors is a biyach. Along with stage 1 I installed a upper charge pipe, NGK BR6 plugs and wires, and a plastic manifold. After doing the quick learn for the transmission I started clocking for any speed gains. What I noticed immediately is that the engine revs up really quickly and the top end 3000 to 6000 RPM's the engine pulls harder. The thing I noticed is that the lower end doesn't seem to have much umph. What I noticed is that when you rev the engine with the throttle in a second you can hear a woosh sound. From what I can tell this is coming from the stock wastegate. And what I'm thinking is that the turbo is spooling up quicker causing the wastegate to release boost pressure. If I'm right what would be my next move? If I'm way off then what's going on?

Figure out what was going on the lower connection to the charge pipe blew off so the air coming out of the intercooler was venting out. Now I know what type of power NA PT's get, poo-pooy, I did a 0-60 time of 12 seconds. Once I got the upper charge pipe connected right the car was running properly. Did the quick learn again and did some launches and

0-60 in 5 seconds sounds very optimistic. Was this from a dead standstill? Stage 1 is a great upgrade but I don't see it taking your 0-60 time from ~7.5 to 5 seconds. You'd have to double your horsepower to do that with everything else being the same. Then you'd have traction problems.
Then again, you could just have a freak circumstance... Brian |

Well, that's the number my PT is putting down these days. I'm averaging these times since I don't have a race track I can go to. So here in town there are a few roads that I can take off on. Also stage 1 is one of the upgrades I did to my PT. Realistically my 0-60 time might be 5.5, but it feels fast. Wheel spin is a bitch to control now, but when you get it right, zoom.
