I am having problems ordering the Stage I kit. The dealer says he needs a fault code to order a replacement PCM.
Does any have an orderng protocal for my dealer, or for that matter a way to direct order? |

Did you give him part number from page 1 (p5007943-5sp or p5007944-auto- stick )? I didn't give my parts guy anymore than that he,called me later and I gave him vin# and odo reading. Sounds like your parts guy is like my service manager....clueless !

I have not read through all of your posts and wanted to let you know that we did send the dealers the email today. (They refer to their email system as dmail from Chrysler).
The ONLY information they need to enter the order is 1) The PN = P5007862 (for SRT-4) 2) VIN # 3) ODO 4) To fill in something in the Comment field, e.g Stage 1 Turbo Upgrade They will also fill in two more fields; 5) Claim Type (just the wording on the system - we know it's not a claim) = 0 (zero) 6) Diagnostic Code = COS (same thing - the system we have to use makes us fill in this space so I had to find some kind of code) That's it... nothing else. All of this was outlined on the "dmail" we sent out today. Just a reminder, this is the only system we had available to make sure we get your proper VIN number (most important thing). With the VIN number - you will get your custom-made Stage 1 Turbo Upgrade Kit. Bottom Line - The dealers CAN order it today - I placed an order in the system last week - had no problems. Just working out the final touches on the website - will let you know when it is up and running. I have a deadline of Wednesday, but you never know what can happen. |

Above post stolen from SRT-4 website(may be a PVO deepthroat) .
Aparently some dealers are willing to state in writing that the kit does not affect warranty, others consider it to be "aftermarket" and you take it from there. The www.mopar.com website will have a warranty statement soon! |

Woohoo! I just ordered my Stage I kit! Easy as pie, once you get ahold of someone in the parts department who had read the dmail! They didn't even require a pre-payment or deposit, but then they know me from the local cruiser club. Can't wait. I just hope I can do it myselt and not screw it up. If I do, I'll be looking at a tow charge too, since it's the only car I have.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way to drain the coolant, besides removing the lower radiator hose? I can't find a pit-cock anywhere.

Just talked with the local dealer, Waranty remains intact if the install is done by Chrysler dealer (Chrysler parts, Chrysler service), the one wild card is "abusive use", but that applied already to the standard warranty.
$125.00 install rate. I may have to bow to this one, still have over 60,000 miles of waranty. |

10-4, and my dealer says I have to bring in my ECU when I pick up the kit! I guess I have to walk to the dealership since the car will be dead with the ECU removed!

"Ok guys I have to disagree with DSM mike here. This isn't a 20 minute job by any means. You get the gaskets because you have to remove the intake manifold (upper portion) to access the fuel rail. If you follow the service manual they even recommend draining coolant as they recommend pulling the top radiator hose and thermostat housing. This may not be for the average person . In addition since you're removing these things I also believe a torque wrench would be needed also."
Oh, I see. It slipped my mind that you had to remove the upper intake manifold. I was refering to just replacing the fuel injectors, assuming you had access to the fuel rail. Anyway, my bad. Still, it shouldnt be too hard. Most people should be able to do it, but there is still the issue with warranty, depending on your dealership. I agree with flashbk2, about 1-2 hrs. |
