Dream4 and KJ Bob thanks for the in-depth explanation. In my book more info is always better than less.

Could I face any warranty issues that you know of?
If you get a picky non mod friendly dealer, yes, by law they cannot decline your warranty unless they can prove that the Stage 1 actually caused the problem, but they will try to say they can, also it only takes 10 minuite to put back the old PCM before you go to the dealer if you really have to, but contact your dealer first by phone and see how they feel about mods, some don't mind as long as you understand that there is no warranty on performance parts through Mopar.

This isn't exactly on topic - but close, so bare with me...

2003 Stage 1 requires injectors, while all other years do not require injectors. Did, starting in 2004 put in the higher PSI injectors in the cars straight from the factory? Or why all of a sudden, did the cars stop needing as much fuel with the addition of Stage 1?

I think this has been beaten to death - but will they ever make the Stage 2 for the PT, or has it been 100% decided it will never happen? Has anyone found an upgrade path similar to what Stage 2 would be? Just doing a little research before I make a decision one way or another on the PT GT 'Vert I am looking at buying.

Thanks!
Matt

Matt,

Go sign up at PTCrew.com.
Do a search on the basics first. Read the MOD-Bible section too. If you don't find what you need, then ask. PTCrew is -the- site for PT performance. Bunch 'o gearheads over there that have done what you want already...

Brian

From '04 on PT turbos came with Stage 1 injectors.
You will never see a Stage 2.
My '03 GT was modified beyond Stage 2 numbers.
As Brian said you will learn everything you need to know at PT Crew.

That makes sense about the injectors. Thanks for clearing that up. I will definitely check out PT Crew. I think I might have tried to sign-up there at one time, but my login would never work. I will check that out tonight after work.

Thanks to both of you for the reply!

As far as S1 yes or no - no question yes.

I didnt think it would have added as much power as it did. It only shows me that I need the LSD and major suspension/handling upgrades now!

Plugs and better wires are recommended for ANY PT, not just S1 modded. The factory wires are crap. I have had S1 for at least 2 years and have had no problems at all. Gas mileage only changes if you get the footinagas disease. Some have reported better mileage with S1, although I cannot confirm that personally. I still range from 17-20 in mixed freeway and street driving and the occasional point and squirt stoplight grand prix.

JUST DO IT!

I agree, when you add the S1 - look for Magnecor 10mm ignition wires plus champion iridium spark plugs. The S1 does give you a better throttle response so with a S0 you would have to downshift but with a S1 often you dont so there is where some gas savings would come in. I struggle with the footingasdisease so my gas mileage stats are not representative of what you can expect. I go by miles to a tank using the odometer. The best I have gotten is 370 miles to the tank. I have often driven on tanks of gas and have seen 350 a few times. That was without any grand prix driving - all driving miss daisy.
