So with this upgrade running with the manual boost controler at 14 psi would be kinda piontless? If what your saying is that it gets 16.5 psi then drops to 10.

My plan of action is to remove the boost controller, install "Stage one" and study the turbo changes. then adjust the controller.

I am not an expert on how this would effect long term function of the cat(the converter is quite expensive due to the proprietary flex coupling at the turbo - there's only one place to get a replacement). |

Kirby,
I haven't actually looked at the flexs couple on my PT but there are flex couplings available in the aftermarket. Is there something different about ours?

I'm sure that the aftermarket will make something soon, but I was told that since the converter hooks directly to the manifold(not down the line like others) they had to put a proprietary flex end to deal with engine movement. I don't know that this might be a warranty item for stock PTs with bending the end along with high temps. I certainly don't know.
I would be suprised to see anyone make a "cheap" unit though since the Federal Government makes ALL cat manifacturers warrant for 70,000 miles and this unit will only be for our autos (specialty item). |

UniqueT did say the autostick would see more of an increase than the 5 speed. Hope they made the shifts a little more firm.[8)]

If you keep it to the floor or close to that, the shifts will occur around 6,000 RPM. Just put it in first and stand on it. The shift is firmer because the PCM can't take the time for a "soft" shift between 6K and the rev limiter.
This was even programmed into the old auto trans in the earlier models. |

( Oooooh. I want
BigDog! Lemmie know if you get it and install it. I wanna watch ) Saki I was going to say the same to you. Your alittle bit braver than I am when it comes to working on the Cruiser ![]() |

Ok..Lemmie get this straight.
Stage 1 upgrades computer so you can run at 16.5 PSI w/o error codes? So with my MBC, running 15 psi, getting codes...my engine is actually ok? Its my computer? [:I]
