STAGE 1 INSTALLED AND HAPPY

I FINALLY got the Stage 1 kit. The instructions were spot on and easy to follow. The whole install if the car is cooled down takes about an hour to 1.5 topps. The driveability is far superior to the stock computer. The boost doesn't drop off between shifts when shifted at WOT, it holds nicely. It even has a nice pop between shifts. Had it at the track today to test it out. With 17's and a axle back straight pipe it went 14.7 stock computer. Well My best with Stage1 was 14.19!! I can't waite to put my 15's and BFG drag's on. Should be in the high 13's. The best thing is the sound on decel. OH MY GOD!! It sounds like a gun going off! My neighbors now are saying slow down when I am going the speed limit. I love it. I also noticed that the rev limiter is not as harsh as stock. It almost has a soft limiter. Its nice at the track if u miss or rev to much it dosn't make u sound like a dumb ass[|)] The real test was the "Street Test". It passed with flying colors. The kills tonight included 2WRX 1GT'Stang and even with a S4. Not to shabby This is the best mod I think you can do that is easy and yealds great power. If I havent convinced you yet to just go get one you must be a wus or scared that you might enjoy your PT even more than you do now. Now when does the Stage 2 come out......

i 've had mine on order for about 4 weeks now, but i have an auto stick so i don't know when those are coming. i am anxiously awaiting

Is the boost amount increased from stock, if so by how much?

Mine peaks at 16.5 and at high RPM goes down to 13

Great to hear the actual install time.

Local Chrysler Dealers have been quoting me 4-6 hours for the job @ $80 per.

PVO,you certainly sound like one happy camper! Thats the reason you bought the car in the first place, to have fun. Did you say that you installed it yourself? From reading some of the prior info on here it made it sound like the dealer had to do it because it was so technical.

Don't you just love it. Back yard machanic 2 hrs, professional 4 hours. Plus there is no warranty no matter who does it. I think this is one I would try myself. No dummy book needed here. Just another typical screw the customer. Lets us all know how things are going, all of you Cruisers doing this yourself, I know everyone is interested.

The only thing to look out for is when taking out the stock injectors, MAKE SURE THERE IS NO SAND OR DIBRIS ON OR AROUND THE INJECTORS!!!! I would never pay someone to do work on my car unless I was not capible of doing so. A monkey could install the stage 1. If you can change your oil you can do this. Remember half the fun is working on your car!
