Has anyone used one of these.
They are called, "Brand New Jet Performance Module". They are about half the price of the Chrysler Stage 1 PCM at about $240. They also claim a they have a Stage 2 chip. Stage 1 part # 90418 Fits 03-06 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L Turbo Today's vehicle use various types of computers, some have chips that are easily removable, others do not. Not to worry, JET has a chip, module or computer upgrade to fit almost every application on the road today. The ECM in the vehicle looks at various sensors such as manifold vacuum, coolant temperature, throttle position and RPM, it then processes this information and adjusts spark timing, air/fuel ratio and other parameter according to the tables stored in the JET Performance chip/module memory. By recalibrating these tables we are able to tune the engine for the maximum horsepower and torque under various driving conditions. By installing the JET chip or module these extra increases in performance enhance drivability, towing capabilities, reduce ¼ miles times and provide improved overall efficiency. Stage 1: If you have a stock engine with no other modification, this is the chip for you. The JET Stage 1 performance Chip is programmed for maximum power increases on a stock vehicle for improved performance under hard throttle conditions such as towing and wide open throttle acceleration. *Special Note: Stage 1 Chips are street legal in all 50 states. *CARB EO#D-234-4 Stage 2: Also available, part # 90418s, see listing Designed for modified vehicles with low restriction exhaust and low temperature thermostat. The JET Stage 2 Performance Chip has been calibrated for peak horsepower in cases where the engine has been modified to run cooler and the exhaust system is less restrictive than original equipment. *Special Note: Stage II Chips are street legal in all 50 states. *CARB E0#D-234-4 If you have any question about application please contact Jet performance before making a purchase. |

This has been discussed many times before. The Jet Performance chips 1 & 2 are not worth it. The Mopar Stage 1 is programmed for the car perfectly and is the building block to more power.
If you have a stock engine with no other modification, this is the chip for you. That should give you a clue right there. Add more performance parts to your car and they will be worthless to the Jet chip, both 1 & 2. If you don't believe me go here and ask. Lots of PT gearheads here. PTCrew.com - Learn it or Burn it.

Follow the senior cruisiers advice and check out the Dealin' section over there. Lately many used Stage 1 PCMs popping up for sale. Also keep an eye on ebay. Nothing really about them can break so I think used is as good as new. A used one can be had for much less then the new price of $440 from Haynes Speed Shop (but still not a bad price compared to what others will charge). BTW- I just dealt with Haynes for the first time on other parts and Tommy Thrift (a name you will come to know if you stick around) was great person to deal with. Parts arrived in 2-3 biz days.
