Default Stage 1 done....

Well, I have been away from the forum for a bit.. but im back now..

A few months ago, i bought a stage one upgrade from haynes.., plus a new air intake and a BOV (which came with the package). the package was delayed cause I was one number off for the VIN... so it was delayed for a month.

So the day I was supposed to get the package in the mail (which didn't show up), we took off for a road trip to crater lake (from vancouver, bc)..
great trip, but on the way home we were hit on the passenger side.. 10 grand worth of damage! my baby!

so after 2 months of being fixed and worked on, we finally got our PT back.. they did a good job fixing it. But what was more important, I was finally able to put $1000 worth of car parts on it..

the PCM was easy... but I broke 2 tabs on the plugs.. (why is everything so frail... lol)
the air intake was a sinch..
the biggest pain in the a*s was the BOV..

OMG!! has anyone else put a new BOV on their PT? they didn't make that engine compartment for guys with big hands!! lol... and they seem to sharpen all the edges down so you get cut up pretty good!!

first question.. if you have put a new BOV on... which way did you do it.. and which was is the easiest?

second question... when I took the air intake pipe off and looked into the turbo.. it was a bit dirty/oily... is that normal? or should it be super clean?

third question.. I got the mopar air intake (which is really nice actually).. and there is a lil tube that connects from the engine to the intake.. which just seems to oooze out a bit of oil now and then.. so... how is that good for the engine?.. and how can we stop that?

So, I spent about 2 to 3 hours putting the upgrades on... and we did the tranny learn (which was actually fun on the highway)..
the first time we did the 40 mph 4-3 3-4 kick down and up, it blew a ton of carbon out.. which was nice to see..

I have to say... anyone wondering if they should get some upgrades.. DO IT... RIGHT NOW! lol
this car was fun before.... but it freakin rocks now.. that bit of extra power/less turbo lag makes a difference..
and I swear that with the new air intake, we are gonna end up sucking the world into that thing!

anyways..

thanks for the help and info on this site guys..

Congrats on joining the Stage 1 club. The Mopar bov is a PITA no matter how you look at it, at least that one bolt is. A 10 mm racheting wrench helps ease the pain.

Ahh yes, that one bolt on the back side where that metal pipe is.. it was soo much fun.. LOL
I used a 10mm wrench and just worked it slowly... it consumed the most time out of any one part.
But that thing sounds super cool that its on now..
