Ok I have a 2003 PT GT. I plan on getting the Mopar Stage 1 kit. But this isn't going to be enough for me. I'd also like a dual stage boost controller and I'll add a wastegate. I'll have a shop install the duel stage boost and wastegate and tune if for me just to be safe. So my main question is if I have the Stage 1 kit will this help the all around performance of the car vs the stock set up with a dual stage boost and wastegate setup?

You won't need a dual stage boost controller (dsbc) with the Stage 2 wga. Because of bad part throttle boost (PTB) you will need a dsbc with an AGP wga.

That is true, I forgot to mention that, I have my Stage 2 WGA sitting here to put in soon. A few of us were at Cecil Dragway last Sat and with my mods listed below I held 15psi all the way through the traps. so hopefully with the S2 WGA I will be able to hold 17 to 18 through the 1/4 mile. ![]()

So then I'll also need a boost guage and it sounds like a fuel to air mixture guage wouldn't be a bad idea either. |

DSBC = Dual Stage Boost Controller
A boost gauge is very important and an air/fuel gauge is a good thing to have. AGP wga is a brand name wastegate.

I sounds like the Mopar Stage 2 wastegate is the way to go and not worry much about drive ability. Can a Mopar stage 3 wastegate be installed or is that over kill and asking for trouble?

I may be wrong, but from the pictures in the Mopar Performance catalogs I have, it looks to be made differently, as the Stage 3 exhaust manifold is different. I have also never heard of anybody using the Stage 3 WGA on a PT, except the very few that have converted the Stage 3 turbo & manifold to the PT.

Dream4,
Just curious, what was 1/4 mile times/speed? have you ever had your PT "bog", like backfire? Thanks, Mike

I am still pretty much at Stock '05 Stage 1 levels, but my best run so far was last Nov. at Cecil County Drag Way was a 14.634 @ 96.03 mph with a crappy 60 foot time of 2.224. This is with a 3600 lb convertible. (almost 3900 lbs with me in it ) So a 3240 lb. 4 door sedan PT with the same mods should do about 14.3xx, about .10 faster for every 100lb less weight. ![]() I have never had a back fire or bog, it pulls smooth & hard all the way to red line, 6240 rpm. If you have this kind of problem, could have a plug or wire problem, I had to change my stock plug wires only after 1000 miles when it was new due to a miss on hard accel. You can also see my Dyno sheet on my Mods web page below in my signature area.
