still waiting for my S1 to arrive, hopefully soon right tthrift

kirby, macster or all the other experts out there, should I get a boost gauge prior to the install so we can check difference in boost stock vs. S1, what do you think.

If you want to experience the joy of watching a gauge move up and down showing what you feel go for it. I have mine already installed and have studied the different pressure increases and drop of the factory PCM. When the S1 is installed I can see what are the Boost changes and figure out what to adjust later in my controller.

If you don't plan to add anything else, or what to keep it as stock as possible inside, don't bother. The computer will protect itself from overboost and contain the turbo beast. Of course, this is if there are no bugs in the New PCM programing. The gauge can only void the waranty on the hose that you tap on to it, nothing else...

$0.02

Sound like you've got it going!! I just didn't want our fun to be your misery!!

I think we are talking about two different things. I want to help with Rice killing's install. But I am going to do mine a different way and the reason for that is that I can coordinate things to happen to happen sequenially and get everything done in about a day. So thats why I came up with this idea. I just want to get every thing done at as soon as possible and my friend can make it happen. I'm looking on it as a learning experience plus it will be fun, he lowered my car, installed the springs, eagle 192 rims, tires, stereo, stealth sub, six speakers, burglar alarm, and shocks. He wants to do change my exhaust system which ain't gonna happen, I knew that the whole idea behind stage one et al was that those parts are expected to be installed on a stock vehicle. So I'll let him do the stage one and work his magic there.

macster
I know you were planning to come up. My feeling is that with the first six months of this new product, some of you are the brave ones. It is appreciated!

The boost guages are really quite cheap comparatively. I have read posts where Pressure relief has stuck, and that boost is sometimes greater than expected. It sounds like a smart move if you have the cash!

How would you like to mount guages when or if you install? Dash, Center console, pillar pod?
