|
A knowlegeable dealer can flash the pcm and they will charge you about an hour's time. A lot of dealers will claim stupidity and say it can't be done. There is a How To over at SRT forums that is a step by step instruction for the dealer to do the reflash. Get that and print it out if the dealer claims stupidity.

I just called the Dodge dealer in my town and they said it would cost me $50-$65 and take about 45 minutes to an hour.
The guy said that they had to put the PCM in the car to flash it?????? Does anyone have a link to those instructions???

that sounds about right. what you could do is ask them to swap the computer for you or install the computer and drive over, the car will still work even if its not flashed

Ok, stupid question. If the car will still "work" if I put the S1 PCM in it, then why do I have to have it re-flashed to my VIN #?

yeah its weird i fully dont understand it my self but it was a big imporvement on my car and a few others when we did it.

Car will only run for a few seconds with a pcm thats not reflashed yet. Pcm does not need to be in car to be reflashed.
