I concur. I have been driving HARD for a while with the S1 and have not had a problem or hicup at all. The only downside is that the fuel cunsumption is a little worse. If you drove a S1 you would want one. NO QUESTIONS!!!!!

Sounds like my turbo car. I really have all the power I need--at least for now. So, if it's not broken, don't think I'll fix it--at least not for only 20 more horsepower. I'll wait awhile, see how the Stage One Upgrade goes, and then once I'm sure DC will provide full warranty coverage I may consider some real horsepower gains with the Stage Two Upgrade when it is released. Just my two cents.

Looks like I upset the Cheerleader Squad again; - My bad...

Some folks just seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of reality. Lucky for them, this situation is usually rectified with age and maturity.

This specific point is where you and I differ. I will gladly sing the praises of the great guage packages, exhaust systems and other add ons.

The old " I've been eating these poison berries all week and I'm not dead yet" attitude is no help here. I would not recommend that you take a leap, not knowing where the bottom is, nor should you. Your relationships give you the confidence to take the leap and I applaud your courage for that, but for you to recommend to anyone not knowing their situation is nieve and childish.

We have multiple threads now on this site with people with FULL warranty getting NO help with their problems[:0]!

Will you personally warrant any Stage I kit sold!!!

If not, then you should limit your posts to your experience and acknowlege the other guy's concern!![?]

Mods like shocks, springs, tires, and exhaust are clearly spelled out in the warranty as NOT affecting warranty!![^]

I would have loved to have gotten an S1 and/or S2 but here in good old California its obviously illegal to install, irrespective of the warranty issues. It will be interesting to see if Chrysler shops in California will install any S1 kits. If they do and they are aware that the car is being driven on public roads how liable do they become? More interesting will be how liable is Mopar for supplying kits to car owners in California? Are they asking for evidence that the car is only used for offroad use?

Any lawyers out there who would like to comment on whether Californian GT owners can install Mopar kits legally?

I respectfully admitt that I was wrong for assuming all aftermarket parts are not warrentied, after reading the posts here. Cal Cruz, you are right, Romli, you have a way with one liners> Dalite, may I ask you if you are an attorney? I must compliment your way with words. Extremely well phrased and well thought through. I must go and take my meds now, still on the fence, but love to hear you guys talk about this stuff. Gary

Gary,

No, not an attorney. I honestly want to help save others from getting their education from "The School of Hard Knocks".

However, I am throwing in the towel on the Stage I discussion(s) for the time being. I had one on order in anticipation of testing it on a 2000 mile trip to and from Texas from SE Ga. My dealer just can't quite get it together and verify it has been ordered or shipped, and still considers it an exchange order. They also do $71.00 oil changes and quote 4 hours labor to install Stage I.

I leave out tonight or tomorrow, minus Stage I. When I get back, I will decide to look for someone to take the GT for pay-off and move on to another manufacturer's product that is backed by both warranty and confidence, or keep it and re-enter the debate (and possible further negotiations for Stage I delivery). The Debate will probably still be raging, since DCX has been so generous with information and answers to everyone's questions.

We bought the wife's last 2 cars (01 and 02 Forresters) from the Subaru dealer in Jax, FL. They are in the process of putting in a 4 wheel dyno, a tuner shop for all makes, they sponsor a few cars and have personel on staff hired specifically for the tuner market. Also, I nearly forgot, they warranty everything they do to the car, and will tell you yes or no before you do anything to the car; all you have to do is ask. This may not be a nationwide phenomenon, but apparently the owner has the confidence, funds and factory backing to make this move. They are rumored to be the largest Subaru Dealership in the US...

For my efforts in owning a 02 and 03 PT Cruiser, I get $71.00 oil changes and the "Mushroom Treatment" (Fed $H-T and kept in the dark). Hard decision, huh?
