The exhaust from the BOV is well before any fuel is introduced into the system. I have had mine on since last year when they first came out and have never experienced that issue. Also, the intake for the heater is on the exterior of the engine compartment below the windshield. Unless you have removed the rubber seal you should not be getting any odor from the engine compartment into the interior.

Having said this, the fuel odor is not something to ignore. You need to find the source as this is an explosive situation. Fumes are even more volitile than raw gas.

I installed the BOV earlier this evening, with some help from Mrs. DT.

A few things I found during the install.

Step 3: You will need to move the fusebox. Tthe instructions only say to move the top. You need to remove one screw from the passenger rear side of the box (not noted in the instructions) and unclip the two front clips. Move it into the spot the airbox normally sits (removed in step 1).

Step 5: The PITA bolt on the passenger side of the surge valve is best reached from the back. Do this by squeezing a hand through the area just below and to the driver's side of the surge valve. You will need to use some kind of leverage to move the oil line to get a wrench on the bolt. The Mrs. used the following wrench:

Step 8: You will again need to move the oil line to get the new even more of a PITA bolt in on the passenger side. This bolt is where you will spend 90% of your time during the install. [xx(]

Steps 10 & 11 are in the wrong order. Step 11 needs to be done before step 10.

Step 12: Go for a [8)] and enjoy the pssssshhhhh! [8D]
i was wondering if you take out the rubber and the spring when installing the mopar blow off valve

This is one of those Mods that is easier on the Auto cars than Manual trans cars. I've done the install on both and the PITA bolt is easiest from the bottom on Auto trans but the top on 5-speed cars.

why you ask?

There is a fluid line that runs right thourgh the space you need underneath for the PITA bolt for the 5-speed cars that is not there on the Auto cars..

Stanley ratchet is the bomb tool to have for this mod.. You don't need to move the fuse box on the 03-05 YES on the 06+ cars since that design changed.

My personal thanks to veteran and novice crewbies that have offered information and how-to's they have been instrumental in taking LiquidPT from modded car to stock to live a more quiet and sedate life.
