After reading this thread I saw a shirt that answered the Performance question:

"MOPAR, Keeps the Faith" And had pictures of a Cuda, Charger and a Roadrunner

The interresting thing is that Mopar is creating the same kind of car it did in the '60s. A powerfull car that could not brake or turn... Roadruner (four wheel drums!!!). I guess we can keep the faith that the old idea is comming back. Huge ammounts of power with no control...

Just two cents.

Ian

Boy, would I like to see our PT with the EVO drivetrain, AWD, 13" Brembos, 18 X 235 tires on 8'' wide rims, full coil overs, and 270 to 300hp. The perfect emergency vehicle for racingof all sorts.

Hey,

There are no invoice stickers allowed in my dreams!
Of course it's all under full warranty, with a RECOMMENDATION to thrash!

It would be very sweet, but that Tranny is sooooo heavy!

[8]You guys are to quick to find faults and hypothesize that Mopar Performance is not backing up the HP[8)] with suspension and brake mods.
There are several MPP/PVO vehicles that frequent the drag strips for testing and development that are Stage 2 and more.
If the suspension kits were completed first you would crab about no HP improvements.
You should offer real suggestions as to what you want next for the PT Turbo's and you might just get it.
I see how Turbo G was run off this site.[xx(]
PT Turbo Auto running in the 13's, its not as far off as you think[8)][?]

Culprat,
Have you contacted your NHRA Divisional Director? If not call Jay Hullinger at (765) 689-8727. You might also talk to your divisional Tech Director at (765) 689-8377, ask for Ritch Bowers. Those two would be your best starting point.

P.S. Kirby, what more do you want? Stage 2 will be giving you 270 plus HP already and you have to remember our "wagons" weren't designed to be racecars. The PT is handicaped by too much weight and too tall to be competitive with the EVO and Subaru Sti's (at least the new 300 HP version). I've had my GT to 110 MPH (pre-Stage 1)already and would say it handles great at that speed...actually it handles better and feels more stable than my 1977 Corvette. The GT brakes are already bigger than the standard Cruiser and I'm sure you'll be able to get racing style pads soon. Throw on an aftermarket bar, some wider wheels and racing tires, Stage 2 and you'll have a Crusier that will outperform the average drivers driving-skills in short order. If your mechanicaly inclined you can do this cheaper than what the factory would have to charge you for. I think Chrysler/Mopar has done an excellent job and am totally amazed I'm driving a very stylish "wagon", that gets close to 28 MPG, carries all my gear, seats up to 5 people, and can dragrace heads up with most Mustang G.T.'s with just the addition of Stage 1 (a paltry $400).

What pisses me off is that stage 2 will bring in a water IC spray. Not track legal. Ill be sure to replace that.

Well, from what we've heard about Stage 2 you can simply turn it off (or perphaps not install it at all). I think that it would be great for the street (cooling down before shutting off the engine) or turn it on in the burnout box at the track (there is plenty of water on the ground there). If you are talking about road course racing and the IC spray, I would have to say that I don't see the GT being at home on a road course, but that is just my opinion.
