Anyone have pictures/instructions on installing this mod. plate for the BOV? I'll be installing it on my 04 GT.... I read through this thread:
Mopar BOV Instructions and saw guys talking about having to disconnect the downpipe and made it seem in a few posts that its a big to do????? Is this really a lot of work? |

Have never done this on my GT or SRT-4 cause it is a PITA install and it's all for just a noisemaker. I've gone for a real bov and those are installed in the uppercharge pipe. You don't have to remove the downpipe you remove the UCP. That's the hose that runs from the throttlebody down to the intercooler. It's good to have a second pair of hands to pull the oil line away from that PITA 3rd bolt. The Mopar plate does make a cool sound, but not good for 20 psi lbs of boost as they tend to leak. I used a HKS bov on the GT and stuck with the stock surge valve on my Stage 2 SRT-4.

Some cars are built just slightly different, so clearance can be an issue, but I've never seen anyone pull the DP for a BOV install. More of the case is an oil line that runs really close the BOV some cars have lots of room other almost none. Auto's are the easier ones to do this mod to, 5-speeds have another oil line that runs right through where your hand needs to go when attacking from the bottom. Its not a quicky easy mod, but its doable.

The silver 03 GT is gone, but a Solstice has arrived. There are three more PT's to play with though ![]() My personal thanks to veteran and novice crewbies that have offered information and how-to's they have been instrumental in taking LiquidPT from modded car to stock to live a more quiet and sedate life. |
