Thumbs up Installed Stage 1 muahaha

Installed the Stage 1 PCM tonight and muahahhahaa I love it! Very torquey, and I tell you what, I noticed the increase right away backing out of my driveway. Barely touch the gas and it wanted to go go go!

Now if only I could find a Mopar Performance Cold Air intake!

The Mopar Performance Cold Air intake is actually a misnomer as you'll lose some of that new found torque because of sucking hot engine air. Modify the airbox, drop in K&N filter and replace the turbo to airbox hose.

I'll make a post for an airbox in the Parts Wanted section now (I want to set mine aside and hack up a different one). What do you mean by replacing the hose though?

The turbo to airbox hose has a baffle in it that narrows down to 1 1/2". It quiets the noise, but really impedes airflow.

*ahem* opinion

If there is no dyno comparison it did't happen. There are MANY ways to route cold air to the intake. Look at any ff class (fast fwd) at the track, they have 4-6" short rams with (what looks like) rain gutters running to them. I trust my k&n... It's your call

Have seen on the dyno up to 19 lbs/ft torque loss with an open intake and a measley 2-3 hp gain. The only time you need to run an open intake is with a big turbo setup. Check this out. http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/ge...AirWARNING.pdf The first paragraph pertains to all vehicles and then Kennebell goes on to tell you how bad an open intake is for their supercharger. You can trust that your K&N open intake is costing you torque.

I have also seen write ups that say any open air filters (k&n airaide) kill your engine. I think its true to a degree. If not i would not have put a heat shield around mine (yes sealed, u already commented at the crew). I find it hard to beleave an open filter alone on a 185whp application will lose 19ft/lbs. Thats around 10%... I know jim will say differently too but there aee ways around the stock ab as i described.

Dyno results - PT Forums - The PT Cruiser Enthusiasts and Owners Resource Notice the thread starter's name? Good enough for me, especially since, as Kennebell noted, all car manufacturers do provide a closed intake system for a very good reason. I think people use an open intake because they look full race and sound cool. Enjoy your ride.

Welcome to FWD Performance, Inc. --- Call and ask for Cindy. Tell her Billy sent you. It was VERY reasonably priced and it got here in two weeks.
