I discussed the addition of the stage 1 and a greddy boost controller with a mechanic at the local Chrysler dealership and he had already installed both on his GT. He said the boost control unit will make more of a difference the just the stage 1 kit.
In the spring I'd like to add cold air induction and a tower brace. I'm really looking to have more fun on my daily ride and maybe 1 trip to Cayuga for kicks next year. Quote:

It was not a discussion about software availability at that time, and I think that 3barboost and I have pretty much covered the concept of property rights, and that the dealerships would not have access to the Stage I software. At the point the comment was originally made, that point hadn't been mentioned; or clarified. Understanding a bit about the way they work before plugging in a laptop just may help in knowing what to do when you plug in the laptop. It's all relative. In my case, using a data logger will help a great bit in understanding the programming flow. But, then again, I am concerned with learning about the PCM and how it maintains control. I will probably not be adding a lot of aftermarket gear until I get an assurance that it won't degrade performance and longevity. I like the compatibility between the staged upgrades and the stock system, and my end goal is not to try to redesign the entire system. You see, that is the wonderful thing about diversity; different people have different concerns and pursuits. I guess that is where the "different strokes for different folks" concept came from. As far as trying to belittle a comment by taking it out of context, then using info that was gathered far after the comment was made to justify your position - Well, we will just have to let the forum readers judge that on it's merits; or lack thereof...... |

HRP is one of the top 5 NHRA tracks in the US. Track prep is better than most tracks. Wheel spin was not excessive. I made 5 runs that day. I ran with traction control off in both D and autostick letting the puter force the shift. The times were almost identical. I had also heard that D wouldnt give as good a result. Not the case when I ran. Back to my originl thought: Sure hope I get a .5 improvement! Just had a thought. Wonder if the magazines have 93 octane or 91. Pump premium is 93 in Houston. Matthew |

Ptturbine...I must have been having a senior moment. I found my original post from another forum when I went to the track. The air quality was much better than I had recalled and I had removed the rear seat. This makes a bit more sense.

don't hurt either. ![]() This thread has to hold the forum record for treatises. ![]() For those who don't know Dalite personally, and yes I'm biased, Dalite thinks "outside the box" on most subjects which creates a lot of thought to be given to a subject from differing perspectives -- which is good. People like myself, who think mostly inside the box, have to catch-up to see the forest for the trees. Granted, sometimes those who "think outside the box" may be wrong; however, that comes with the territory. I'm not sure where I was headed with this...[8)]
