Just an fyi my friend Phatdad is running a fully built Bob Stockum turbo motor with a stock factory '01 auto trans . He's probably got about 10-15,000 miles with this configuration and no tranny issues. His car hasn't been dyno'd but I would guess conservatively he's probably around 225-250 hp .

The general consensus seems to be that the turbo lite (180 hp) engine is identical to the 215 hp to 220 hp GT engine, but tuned for regular gas and lower boost. If that is accurate, does it seem logical that the Stage 1 Kit would bolt right on for a substantial increase in hp and performance?
since you have to have to give your vin number and computor is setup for you car, a good way to tell is just to try to order one. CXD is not going send you one if it wont work. Try too and let use know what happens. If they can do it or if they will do it you probably would get alot more than the 20 hp increase we all did due to the fact you have a detuned version already at 180 hp but I doubt you would be up to he high output version. Well, we just found out the answer to this question.

NO. STAGE 1 DOES NOT WORK ON THE 180HP ENGINE.

See this thread for the complete answer:

Ammend that:

2003 Stage I only works on 2003 models!

2004 Stage I kit is not released yet, AND the 2004 Stage I kit DOES work with the 2004 180hp turbo!
