Back from the dragstrip with a new best for me...
My previous best was a 14.64 without stage 1, but with a drop-in K&N filter and a MBC adjusted to 16#s boost.
Saturday I arrived at Woodburn Dragstrip with Stage 1, the drop in filter, and a PT-Tuning axle-back exhaust. After making a couple of tire pressure adjustmets and running with the trac-contron on and off I found the best times to average 14.77 at 96 MPH. That was 25#'s front tire pressure and the trac-control on. This was actually a .14 second REDUCTION with my previous best running a MBC. Oh yes, I did try re-installing my MBC and as posted on the SRT4 forums it had me running more boost ...but NO increase in HP and NO reduction in ET. The two are NOT compatible. Disappointed I decided to do the "spring trick" and after installing a double return spring for a carb on the WG actuating arm I was rewarded with a new best of 14.40 at 96.41 MPH. How about that...almost 3 tenths for a $6.00 spring set!!![8)] Deen P.S. 3BarBoost, What does your "racepipe" consist of? No Muffler?

Do you have a part # and/or source for the spring you used? Which MBC are you using ?

Whoa, the spring set has gone up...I bought mine about 10 years ago. They now list for $8.49 in Jegs. Mr. Gasket # 720-19. The spring set has to be stretched fairly tight to get it to work. I'm not leaving it on for normal day-to-day driving, just for track-time. I'm not currently using the boost-controller now since it doesn't work with Stage 1...don't remember the brand but it only cost $50 3BarBoost, Is the pipe scheduled for production? Sounds like we'll need an upgrade for Stage 2 anyway. Deen

I got a pack of assorted pull strings from Checker Auto. Used one of the shorter springs and attached it to a small turnbuckle (sp?) so that I could adjust the tension as needed.
