Default NEW TURBO OWNER!

hey guys and gals
I just bought my '04 180 hp Turbo PT today... so far I love it! BUT being the speed nut that I am, I am already looking for more power. I see all this stuff about the stage 1, but I am not sure if this will work on my car or not... also the BOV.. will this work for me?? let me know anything you can to help me out. THANKS!
Chris

Welcome and hold on to your wallet. Mod fever is about to strike. I see no reason why the bov wouldn't work on your turbo. It's the same engine, it's just detuned down to 180 hp and to use regular gas. I've heard that the '04 Stage 1, because of the changes in the '04 model, should work on your car. Had a guy help his son install an '03 Stage 1 on his '04 180 hp turbo and it brought it up to the hp of a GT, but the air cond wouldn't work. Don't know if the '04 Stage 1 is available yet, but the changes in the '04 PCM (Stage 1) should give you GT power and everything should work.

That would be great if I could get the GT power or more out of the Stage 1.... or if they would come out with a stage 2 for the 04 that would bump my 180 hp to the 260hp 280 tq that the 03GT acn get!

Since you like to go FAST [8)] did you ever consider the High Output 220hp turbo instead of modifying the 180 hp turbo engine? And, welcome to the forum--great place to obtain information and share ideas. [?]

yes I know a 220hp would have been a better starting point but this is what I could afford and what the wife wanted... I am not going to make this a RACE car or anything.. I have one of those I have a 2165cc aircooled VW with a T3 turbo on it... that is my street legal "race" car (drag) for the PT I am just looking for alittle more performance. So any information that I can obtain from ya'll would be great!
Thanks
Chris

I fully understand--been there, done that. The "WAF"--wife acceptance factor--always has a significant impact on the purchase choice. [?]

Finally got the 2004 Stage 1 for my son's turbo today. Dealer added the PCM in about 10 minutes, ran the quick learn auto transmission program and delivered the car to me. The 180 hp turbo is completely transformed into a rip roaring full stage 1 machine. Performance is identical to my 2003 Stage 1. Now we know for sure!

BTW 04 Turbo, what kind of wheels are you showing in the photo?
