I purchased the Stage 1 several months ago and, as you know, I had to report the mileage and VIN when I purchased it. I had 39,000 miles on it which was reported to the dealer at time of purchase. Now I have over 48,000 miles and I'm only just now installing it. Is there a problem with that? Why is the mileage an issue with the Stage 1?
Thanks. |

the millage isn't an issue, when chrysler set up the ordering system for the stage I kits that require the vin# for the sentry key to work. they used an ordering platform already in use, called function 11 exchange ordering. which i use to order replacement radios that need repair under warranty. the millage is required for a radio repair.
since they use the same ordering platform we must fill in all the prompts and the millage is one of the prompts. i hope i have answered your question. thanks tommy[8D] |

tthrift, thats not my understanding of this issue, the pcm holds the milage for the odomoter, if you "lie" to them when ordering stage 1, you essential roll your odo back.
and I'm sure they can back trace your last repair to get the milage, if you should happen to make a big lie : ) punch |

The PCM does NOT hold the mileage for the odometer. I'm not 100% sure where the mileage is held (my guess is the odo. cluster) but I can tell you it is NOT in the PCM.
How do I know this? Well, I just installed my Stage 1 last weekend and the vehicle mileage stayed the same. When I ordered my Stage 1, I gave the correct odometer reading for the time, 6500km. I now have just over 9700km on the clock and that is what the odometer reads.

GLH is right, in that the PCM doesn't hold the mileage for the Cluster. However, both the PCM and the Cluster read the vehicle speed signal and keep track of it separately....

GL you better read your S1 paper work. If you are doing WOT 6300 rpm shifts you are risking issues with trany. You can run it without quick learn but not WOT. Read your quick learn page in your S1 kit
Just trying to help............
