Here's my 2 cents.... I've had 3 cruisers since 2000 . One was close to stock with only intake /muffler . Second was heavily modified: cams, springs, ignition, header, intake, axle back exhaust, lowered and bigger sways. Third is my GT . I love this car and DC has been excellent in taking care of me. However when I had stage 1 ordered ,I talked to my dealers service manager and after the decussion canceled my order. I wasn't gonna to get any warranty if I installed it ! My heavily modified car had failed on me multiple times since modification and I had footed the bill for diag and repairs I couldn't handle myself. The stock cruiser had been traded in 6 months before and the modified was acting up again . I traded the modified for the GT and got 7/70 which neither of the '01's had.

Continued: My point is although I'm a go fast freak as any of you are ,I just can't see throwing my warranty away while I have 55,000 miles of engine warranty left ! I would install stage 1 or stage 2 immediately if it didn't affect my warranty . This is where DC is missing the boat in my mind period ! They neither warrant their aftermarket parts nor the car should the aftermarket part cause the failure . This is wrong in my eyes and comparing themselves to other mfgs doesn't mean sh.. to me . That is why my car will stay non-staged until warranty runs out or DC changes policy . When it runs out I'll be glad to build a hot 2.4 from scratch or rebuild knowing that I own the responsibilty . Understand I don't fault any of you for installing because as for any mod it is question of personal taste and responsibility .

Great post, good rational. Now, let's say I'm the service manager at the dealership where you get your service performed at. You bring your car in for service and I see all the stuff that you have on it e.g. '03 Electric Blue 5 speed GT, bassani axle back single exhaust, addco oversize front, rear sways, wildfire strut bar,color-matched rear muds, xenon sides/"crusher",mirrors,b&c pillars, both interior consoles,b&m sport shifter, hallman boost controller,BTG intake, autometer ultralite gauges, custom flamed seat covers, booger shift bushings, mopar bov you are going to have a tough time getting something fixed right? Heck ,we all know that those fancy seat covers cause tranny failures, right? Those aftermart gage cause electrical problems, and we are not even going talk about that B&M short shifter. My point is that you are already over the line on the warranty, even without discussing the boost controller etc. Soo, is what you have on currently okay with service manager (the boost controler, etc) or do you take it off when you go in for service? [:I] Cause, it looks like an anal service manager could say no to you with some of the items that you have on. BTW, I'm in the same boat in that I have some the same items that you have on your car. Anyway, this is just a question, and not intended to be one of those smart a** sarcastic remarks.

Mac it's just a discussion.....they , the service department has seen everything but the MBC . I do most of my own work (ie oil changes/tire rotations/plugs ,etc. While they look @ my car heavily especially all the gauges ....no problems . But based on my discussion about stage 1 ,that's why MBC is secured to strutbar via wire ties. I'll even make this more "murky" phatdad and I are talking the same dealer , although we each are speaking about 2 different service managers. Ain't that a hoot ! Here's another angle that I'm coming from I'm a service tech for Big Blue, now if a customer buys an upgrade from us and we install it in no way affects their service or warranty . It could raise their yearly mantainence cost but all failures would be covered under their contract. DC listening ? I would be willing to pay a "deductible" or something similar and have my warranty be intact with stage 1 or stage 2 install. I don't see a major difference between autos and computers.

Understood, I just wanted to make sure that it stayed that way. It's sometimes hard to convey intentions with a keyboard. Now having said that, I agreed with you, DCX should offer us some tangible means for the warranty situation. We should how ever start doing something to motivate them. What that is I don't know, maybe someone can come up with something that we can all agree on. Hey have you thought of using QD's for the boost controller hookup?

Hey there Fella's. I've had Stage 1 & Mopar's BOV installed by the dealer. I also mentioned to them I would only purchase the car "IF" they put it in writting, that "parts installed will not void factory warranty". But it's kinda scribeled (hand written) on a to do list, not an actual 'Document', but do you guys feel that this would be adequite if something broke, like that autotrans, or the turbo or??
I'm gonna request it in writting from the sales Manager And/Or the service Manager, would that be enough???? Who knows until something breaks. Just thought I'd ask BEFORE I take the car. Stew

I would get it on a official document. You do realize that Chrysler can say that they gave no such warranty. You might even have to take the dealer to court. My dealer told me that Stage 1 does not void my warranty and that the problem I may have is if they say Stage 1 caused the problem voiding the warranty. I did have the clutch slave unit replaced and the dealer didn't blame it on Stage 1. It also really depends on the dealer and what their attitude is.

Got agree with Mean Green here with my own pessimism , even if you get an "offical" document you're only be able to litigate with the dealer as the stage 1 warranty is very clear .

I have to agree with the above replys that piece of paper u have probably isnt worth much. From what I understand all Chysler dealers are independent business and can pretty much do as they want. They can even decline to work on your car so ive heard. He!! its a new year lets hope for some changes for the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttter !!!!
