My concern is that as a dealer in good faith u go ahead and lets say repair a blown head gasket and some cooked valves .What if when the ticket for the repairs reaches DC so the dealership can get paid and they see the car had a staged upgrade on it and refuse to pay the dealer. You guys cant tell me they dont have a database that sophisticated.I mean the damm pcm in the PT will tell u when the cd is dirty[xx(]

dealers have alot of power when it comes to warranty if it is out of warranty they do have the power to "good will" things. but it is still proving that the stage kit caused the failure. when that neon came in i was a little mad it has all that work done to it and the manager and the district rep both said they can not prove the cause of failure if it went to court. plus the cost of fighting it in court is not worth it they will make some money off chrysler by doing the warranty repair or spend money fighting it.

I will bet u that for every 1 good will dealer there are 10 bad will dealers. Once again its up to the discretion of the dealer. It should be cut and dry.I dont have a Gt but I have a very modded Pt and when I did my mods I knew I was givin up my warranty. When u say if the dealer went to court. 1St the owner would have to start the claim, second wouldnt they be goin after DC first the the dealer if the dealer at all. Also wouldnt it be up to the owner to prove that the staged upgrade did not cause the failure not DC since Dc states in writing about no warranty. I bet a case like this with leagal fees would be at least the price of a new GT. Dont get me wrong Iam on your side 100% but Dc is not stupid the reason people are doing these upgrades are to beat on their cars more than the average driver does it surley is not for better milage.[:I]

you do have some good points but you have a warranty they have to prove that what you did caused the problem the no warranty as i understand it is for the kit itself not the whole car. luck for customers there is about six dealers with in 30 min from each other it wight take 45min. that give more chance to get a good dealer and it also is good for customers because they can play one off the other

well we dealer monkeys have to have very great service to get and keep five-star and the only way we can do that is by fixing cars well if we mess up or you have to come back a second time or you are some kind of dealer hating costomer you give them a bad survey and they are not five star. you have to maintain levels of customer satisfaction repair quality and many other areas too. the dealer can and will tell you to take your car some place else to get work done, if there is another dealer in the area. i would think that one could find a dealer that they were happy with. i am sorry that most of you have bad dealers but i think if people were a little nicer, not going in there with the "dealer monkey" attitude that would help the outcome. we have sent customers away if they are a major pain. but they can say that the car is very important to them and they want only the best care, and try to work with the dealer not against them. that always helps
My experiences with three 5-star dealerships prompted my attitude, not the other way around. My up-front expectations of professionalism and understanding of what can and cannot be done have only been met with doubletalk and incompetence, both of which are intolerable--to a customer and to the profession--and the only recourse is to call it for what it is and avoid it.

I agree with you on dealer's having lattitude, since the story is different for everyone from seemingly the same company. Two service managers here stated, "Chrysler will blame any problem on the [Stage 1] computer, since everything is connected to it." I thanked them for being honest and left it at that. There would be no point to my retorting, "Hey, I am asking you, not Chrysler." with an explanation of how I know better.

What ever happened to the proposed high-level meetings at DCX concerning the warranty issue? These were supposed to occur many moons ago...

Nearly 3 months away from the forum, and the debate still rages on.

DCX-associated members still trying to make light of the lack of a resolution, and the rest of us early-adoptimg beta testers still performing without a net....

Some things rarely take differential paths (Some things never change).
